Hi, I'm hoping to go to a con in January. It'll be my first con, and I'm going to cosplay Kanaya (if I go). I was wondering if you could give me some general tips about cons and stuff? I've done some research but it'd be nice to have a little more info. Thanks

bring water, avoid pony

Im still behind on Homestuck and I NEED to get up to date, but the long pesterlogs always drive me away. Im around the time where you're introduced to Dirk

ok

My question is a two-part one: Firstly, do you think that after Homestuck the comic ends, cosplay and fandom presence at conventions will also end? I ask this because I've gotten into the comic rather late, and though I've always wanted to cosplay, I've never had the guts to, so I want to know if there's a time limit on it. Secondly, is the cosplaying of fantrolls, as long as your costume is well-made and you don't act obnoxious or crash canon photoshoots, considered a no-no? Thank you!

1. No, It’ll settle down but it won’t end. Cosplays are still strong of ended series in the pasts, if its considered memorable, it will be done.

2. Fantrolls welldone are very nice at conventions. As long as they can’t be easily mistaken for a canon troll.

Is only going to a con with your friend cosplayed a Karkat just so you can be throwing yourself infront of buckets a good idea?

no

Hi, I really like this blog. C: anywho, i was wondering, what should i do if people just WONT STOP TOUCHING ME if im cosplaying at a con?

get mad an go hulk and destroy them and scream buckets

aradiaquest:

  • don’t hit people with buckets
The Shameful Homestuck Fans tumblr gets a "Not Found". Is it closed?

It looks like it :(

I’m not sure what happened, the account is coming up as deactivated.

Hopefully maybe it’ll come back.

hi, im going to a convention in about three weeks with another friend or two of mine, cosplaying homestuck. By what i've read on here so far, it seems like going to a convention can be actually dangerous :o im 14, would i be okay going with 1-2 other friends around my age? any tips? This is my very first convention, by the way.

It can be dangerous, most of the times, its very chill and you’ll meet lots of cool people.

You should be fine, just remember you’re in public. Don’t talk to creepy people who ask you to go into their van for free fruit gushers and homestuck shirts.

There are quite a few teenagers into homestuck, its become fairly common in the con scene. Remember convention etiquette and avoid flying objects and people. :)

Hello! I was wondering, I know a thirteen year old girl who's into homestuck, don't ask me how, who wants to go to a convention with me, should I let her come? I don't want anything bad to happen to her while I'm there.

It depends on if your going in a group, if you have more people moderately close to her age (14 - 17) and her maturity.

I started going to conventions personally when I was 11, But I was always in a big group, so nothing too traumatizing had happened to me. If she is a girl that is more independent in her actions, I would say go for it.

Just make sure shes not the type to harass people, excitement is wonderful, personal space is too.
